In the Sufi tradition, there is a saying: “Right time, right place, right people equals success…” When these three elements converge, a beneficial alignment occurs. The right people and time are easily found, but the right place is the most challenging component.
Travelling can be blessed, but it must serve a greater purpose. Touristic journeys driven by curiosity, without genuine connection or spiritual intention, without an invitation, personal or professional reasons, do not benefit your spiritual evolution. They may confuse and freeze your life, as they place you in the wrong place at the wrong time, with the wrong company. It’s an important point that we don’t often consider, but every small thing matters.
In the field of entropic chaos theory, there is the famous phrase: ‘The flapping of a butterfly’s wings in China can cause a storm on the other side of the planet.’ Imagine if it is only a butterfly, what would that be about you?
Tourism is not always advisable because it disrupts the natural balance of existence. Much of our chaotic situation is due to chaotic travelling and communication. The movement of masses of people around the globe for essentially no reason creates many problems on Earth, including ecological and environmental issues.
You have to understand that your life follows a geometric pattern. Everything in life can fit into a mathematical model: mathematics is the science that encompasses all the others, from astronomy to music. The geometry of your emotional situation becomes distorted when you make unnecessary movements. Therefore, it is advisable to keep your movements within the spiritual umbrella.
To a certain point, you will understand that you need all the energy necessary to focus on your inner work. The ego’s powerful pull makes overcoming it difficult, so it is better to try reducing the factors that disrupt this process..
There are two ways to ensure a safe and protected journey: if you are invited by a local, or if you have a spiritual reason. Business or family reasons are the exception. Another exception is if you walk, in which case you can go anywhere. Travelling by bicycle, horse, or train is still OK, but cars and planes are too fast.
In our tradition, embarking on sacred journeys to powerful places that offer spiritual benefits can accelerate your spiritual evolution and bring true fulfilment in your life. These journeys open your mind and sharpen your perception in many ways.
The holy places beckon you. Visiting ancient mosques, cathedrals, and the tombs of saints and masters is always a rewarding experience. Those who built these places long ago possessed true knowledge and created timeless masterpieces that convey a connection across the centuries.
We love visiting the maqams (the graves of the saints) because the saints buried there are more alive, and most of the time, they emanate more love than the living ones; since they have completed their journey, they can offer great support and precious guidance.
We often make sacred pilgrimages to holy places and Maqams (the tombs of Sufi saints and masters) in India, either in Spring or Autumn. You are most welcome to join our small caravan.
